We need to talk. We need a rebrand.

We need to talk. We need a rebrand.

You know the drill, “I’m from the Isle of Wight.” Cue the response, “Oh, I went there on a school trip once!”

I mean, there’s nothing wrong with that answer, but I don’t love it either. Not because we lack stunning beaches — we’ve got those in spades (and buckets).
It’s just that it feels like viewing the island through a tiny porthole when, really, there’s so much more beyond the lens of a postcard or a 10-second clip on Meridian News. The Isle of Wight’s brand could use some serious TLC.
Sure, credit where it’s due: the Isle of Wight Festival has done wonders for us. But pre-festival? Let’s just say things were…quieter.

But now, when I see those young whipper snappers, the festival hardened veterans that board the vessels that return them home, I can’t help but think ‘You’re going? But you have only seen one small part.’
And let’s be real: I understand why some folks don’t stick around. “The Isle of Wight is just an open-air care home,” one commenter proclaimed on our TikTok. Ouch.

They think that this place is only good for the summer seasons, for going to Sandown for a cheap Mr Whippy.
Come on, this place is way more than that.

That’s where we come in. Our mission? To rebrand the Isle of Wight as it truly is — a place bursting with life, culture, natural beauty, and opportunity.
So we decided to be the change we wanted to see. It’s time to call it a day with the generic family photo with a red bucket and spade. Let’s shake hands and say farewell, to colourful sand being the only reason people come (we love the sand for the record).

It’s time to embrace fresh ideas. To show the world we’re more than a holiday spot — we’re the best in England. We’re here to help businesses and brands shout that from the rooftops with high-quality content that really captures the heart of our island.

Join us in telling the real story of the Isle of Wight. Let’s show the world who we are.
